ENTERING AN ASTROLOGICAL PERIOD WE HAVEN'T SEEN IN THOUSANDS OF YEARS - AND HOW THAT WILL AFFECT NHL FREE AGENCY

Note: No AI search results or summaries were used for this article

Do you all understand how insane this current astrology is gonna make NHL free agency? Lmfao

There are astrological transits happening that haven't occurred in thousands of years, mostly because the outer planets take so long to rotate around the sun, and it just takes this long for them to sync up like this again - the Universe doesn't move in people time, it moves on its own timeline. This is quite literally the only time in our lifetime we will see energies like this.
A lot may happen in our world, society, and for U.S. citizens, even within our government and countries structure. I'll happily wait for it all to collapse. But while we wait, why don't we see how these planets, positions and transits will impact FREE AGENCY, which starts July 1st.

COMMUNICATION IS KEY🔑

Mercury retrograde starts today (Sunday June 28th 10:35 PM PST) in Cancer, slightly after Mars enters Gemini at 12:29 PM PDT.

Both of these things are going to impact communication big time. We may even see some "for sure" things we all assumed were going to happen fizzle out or go in completely opposite directions. And there may be some very big surprises, like people being traded back to original teams, players bouncing around in trade deals before landing a final spot, and people we thought would get scooped up right away, lingering.

Technology will also make an impact on logistics and technicalities of trades during this time. Expect tech issues with some of these trades, like legalities with passports and visas, and/or logistical things being missed or looked over, or oversight in no movement clauses etc.
This is honestly a TERRIBLE time for players to sign new contracts. Any huge signings we say may not age well (Jason Robertson).

Mars entering Gemini may cause people to go back on their words, be unclear, and cause general disarray. Shady business dealings will occur. People will seem two faced, especially because both sides know exactly what they want, and what they're willing to give - or give up. And, unfortunately, the other side probably won't be enthusiastically on the same page.

In the age of cap space going up, players will likely strive to be vary transparent about their needs and wants, especially money and terms, heavily influenced by the full moon, which we'll speak about next - while the organizations and GM's will be very diligent in insisting "it's a business." I think we will see some players NOT getting what they want. This will be detrimental to the future of their organizations and relationship with the team. What decisions are made now are going to continue to impact these franchises for YEARS to come. They should all be weary of that - and if teams hired professional astrologers instead of using fucking AI, maybe they'd be keyed into that.

TAKE ME HOME, COUNTRY ROADS🌾

Full MOON: Monday, June 29th, 2026, at 7:56 PM EDT.
The full moon is in Capricorn during sun in Cancer season; Cancer/Capricorn are opposite polarities, which can cause distress and turmoil when it comes to things like contracts, home, private life (Cancer), public life (Capricorn), and more.

THIS IS ABOUT FINDING A HOME.

It's about the battle of unconditional (Cancer) vs conditional (Capricorn) love. Again, "It's a business" will be the mantra of the week, for better or worse.

Choices WILL be made that make players upset. Due to culture changes like younger players being more vocal about their own advocacy, we will start to see this "it's a business" mantra being less and less perceived well by players and their families.

CANCER rules things like home, nurture, and private lives. Capricorn is about accountability and reputation, public life, career. These two things merging together will create an upheaval of disagreements that may cause changes about how trades/free agency and contracts are approached in the future - we're already seeing this with the max term going from 8 years to 7 this season.

Because of Mars/Gemini mentioned above - things are gonna get MESSY. People are going to be HURT and feel betrayed. A lot of players may actually give some emotional truths behind the scenes, and GMs may act out of emotion vs needs/wants, or even working off of revenge/spite (Larkin, Yzerman's statements made yesterday).

Full moon energy sometimes can be felt about 3 days after. This will emotionally impact the trades that occur earliest.

This full moon is also the culmination of conversations and events that occurred at the new moon (June 14th). Whatever trade news was occurring then that wasn't finalized will be wrapped up now.
I'm looking at big names like Jason Robertson, Dylan Larkin, Connor Hellebyuck.
Ultimately, both player/agent parties and GM/organization parties are gonna think they're cookin', but what comes out may not actually be all that edible 😬

THE DRAMA🎭

Tuesday, JUPITER ENTERS LEO (June 30, 2026 1:52 am EDT) 🥰🤩🌈🌸💅🏽✨ which will shine some luck on others.
It's a time of general expansion and growth.

Now, this energy is a welcomed energy. A reminder that maybe everything happens for a reason and that things are always working out for us.

This is an energy that PLAYERS will want to take advantage of, but won't want to over-sell themselves (lookin' at you, Robo and Team USA dudes).

"In Leo, we may focus too much on our image. We might brag, self-aggrandize, spend too much, give too much, or succumb to other destructive extravagances. Problematic Jupiter-in-Leo behavior may be more prevalent around Jupiter’s square to Chiron near the very beginning of its transit (on July 1st, 2026)" - Cafeastrology.com

Trade/Term requests that show no humility may end in embarrassment for people with big loud egos right now like the aforementioned Robertson, but especially for American players like Connor Hellebyuck and Dylan Larkin.

"With Jupiter in Leo, we attract the most good fortune when we express magnanimity, are generous with others, inspire confidence in others, conduct ourselves with dignity and sincerity, and avoid the pitfall of excessive egotism." - Cafeastrology.com

Specifically, I don't see the American Men doing this, and both are at the cost of the Olympics. The gold for Hellebyuck and Larkin, and the snub, from Robertson, have allowed these men's egos to inflate and truly believe they can do whatever they want, especially in the shadow of the Brady Tkachuk trade, which was able to occur because he narrowly escaped this disaster window of astrology.

Now, I'm all for player advocacy and self sovereignty. When warranted. Do I think it's warranted here? I have my opinions. And if you know me well, you already know what they are.

I think Jason Robertson deserves to believe in his own worth, especially after being snubbed from the Olympic roster. But I also believe that too much of this ego inflation WILL be detrimental to what he's trying to portray and accomplish. When peacocks flaunt too much, peahens may become uninterested.

There's much to be said about the men from Team USA and the collusion, "group chat," tampering rumors. I don't even care about all that as much as I care that these are rich white privileged men acting like whiny babies because, ultimately, they want to play with their friends and "wIn A tRoPhY." Oh brother. Gimme a break. People are dying, Larkin.

What we do want to do with this energy is allow for expansion and disallow rigidity that we think must occur in order to "get what we want." Sometimes what we need is better than what we actually want, and when we get there, we find out that maybe our wants were actually met by our necessities being met first.

"For greater success in your career or business, be proud, confident, generous, and above-board in your professional dealings. Don’t be petty, and always choose to take the high road. Generosity can be shown through offering special sales, making customers feel special and unique, and giving to charities. This is not about underselling yourself but rather giving more, whether through charities, special sales, or free information." - Cafeastrology.com

Team-friendly contracts, anyone?

Alternatively, for young players who are RFA's like Jamie Drysdale and Trevor Zegras, who positively impacted their new teams, will likely see fate on their side. They're not asking for anything, that we know of, they're allowing the Universe to play a big role in their contract (even if they're doing it subconsciously). They feel taken care of, they trust. Jupiter is on their side, and I'm sure these white boys don't even know that. Leo is childlike, youth and whimsy is favored. God's favorite, type shit.
(Not to mention that Jamie and Trevor already been through the worst treatment a GM could dish out, not getting signed new contracts in 2023, missing training camp, and ultimately being traded away in 2024, and 2025, respectively.)

Older UFA's like Jamie Benn, John Carlson, Bobrovsky, Anders Lee would do best to let doors open for them and accept what's coming to them. Be grateful they're still considered valuable even though retirement (or, God forbid, career ending injuries) could realistically be on their doorstep in a few seasons.

Ovechkin being an RFA is truly laughable - and no, we don't support his support of Putin, but the "keep politics out of sports crowd" who couldn't read a fuckin' room if they lived inside a library and happily ignore the problematic support of professional athletes and politicians and how they're inherently and openly used as political pawns, will be happy to know that Ovi probably isn't going anywhere, and an agreeable contract should likely be dished out in his favor on a silver platter with a Subway sandwich.
People like Ovechkin always seem to benefit in times like this, because, of course, as rich Russian athlete that supports an oligarch, he's favored. And that actually has NOTHING to do with astrology. That's patriarchy, classism, racism, and politics, friends! (Which, I'm sure actual astrologers could explain how all of this IS synced to astrology, but that's not my lane, so I'll let the professionals handle.)

Still, Jupiter in Leo WANTS to support all these individuals, but are they willing to listen to opportunities knocking even if they think they know best?

Jupiter in Leo is about trust. I don't know that these men have learned to trust much in life outside of themselves, besides their teammates. Leaps of faith are going to need to occur, but where they land could be the most valuable positions they've ever been in.

I also think this is a time where some players may make some enlightening discoveries about themselves. I wouldn't be surprised to see a few people walk away, or not find contracts, but find themselves pursuing new careers, hobbies, and joys in life. What may be an abrupt end for some, maybe just really be a new beginning. This isn't necessarily a sad ending, even if it's not the ending they, or even we all, foresaw.

Now, keep in mind all these transits, planets, positions, are all contingent on these individuals' charts. This is barely scratching the surface and I'm sure there are people who are both more connected to astrology and free agency that could school me here, but this is the best I got for right now, including some intuition and knowledge about the tumultuous and abrupt systems of free agency and trade deadlines within the NHL.

And, boys, when I tell you we haven't even begun to talk about healing our Chiron wounds as it steadies itself Taurus since April....

Take it with a grain of salt, sure. But hey, since you already have the salt with you - you may as well do a protection circle around a photo of your favorite free agent. ;)

If you made it this far - thank you!
