WHAT IS DOUBLE HOCKEY STIX?

Double Hockey Stix is a clothing brand started in 2023 by Lacey Conine, a fan new to hockey that immediately felt the negative impacts towards systematically excluded sports fans, including but not limited to; women, queer people, fat people, Black people, Indigenous and First Nation's people, neurodivergent, disabled.

Double Hockey Stix is a progressive, edgy, funny and thought-provoking brand that likes to poke the proverbial bear. The clothing can be fun and expressive, customizable, but also lend a voice and ear to communities in need.

DHX takes inspiration from pop culture, memes and viral moments, skateboarding, pop culture, and Lacey's own vibrant personality, perspectives and lived experiences.

In 2025, Double Hockey Stix donated over $10,000 to individuals, organizations and causes that we care deeply about. In 2026, we hope to donate even more.

We know hockey isn't currently for everyone, but we believe it should be, so we take steps every single day to call out toxic hockey culture, built a community with the culture we want, and stay true and authentic to who we are at all times. 

We won't stop taking up space.
We won't stop being loud.
We won't stop advocating for anyone who wants to take up space in hockey.

WHO IS LACEY?

Lacey Conine is the brand owner who hails from Orange County, CA, an "unconventional" hockey market. She has dedicated the last 10 years to decolonizing and dismantling white supremacy in different facets of life, including hockey and spirituality. Her pronouns are SHE/HER to any cis-men, and any/all to anyone else.

Lacey is a mixed-race reconnecting Two Spirit of Coahuiltecan and Yaqui ancestry. She advocates heavily for Indigenous people in and outside of hockey.

She is a member of several of the aforementioned diverse groups listed above, and believes in taking up space and being loud in spaces not meant for "us." 

She is an animal and nature lover, and lives with her partner of 12 years with their two elder black cats, Phineas and Ferb, and elder Cattlejack dog, Ranger. She likes puzzles, tarot, hockey, reading, Disney, mysteries & true crime, paranormal and cryptozoology, and advocating for equal rights for all people.
